Grade CF3M is part of ASTM A351 standard, which includes valves, flanges, fittings, and other components designed to handle pressure and temperature. This standard pertains to stainless steel materials. Grade CF3M is a type of cast stainless steel.

The buyer is responsible for specifying the grade of items such as valves, fittings, flanges, etc., that need to be procured. This selection depends on the design requirements, operating conditions, mechanical properties, high-temperature specifications, or corrosion resistance characteristics.

All casting grades, such as CF8, CF8M, CF3, and CF3M, must have appropriate thermal behavior for design and chemical specifications.

The chemical properties of Grade CF3M are listed in the table below.

Carbon %Manganese %silicon %sulfur %phosphorus %Chromium %Nickel %Molybdenum columbium (niobium) %
0.031.501.500.0400.04017.0-21.09.0-13.02.0-3.0

Additionally, the mechanical properties of Grade CF3M are as follows:

TENSILE STRENGTH KSI (Mpa)Yield strength ksi (Mpa)Elongation in 2in. Or 50mm
70 (485) 30 (225)35

The temperature limit for grade CF3 is above 800°F (427°C).
