Check Valves

Categories

Check valves, also known as non-return valves (NRV), are essential components in piping systems designed to allow unidirectional fluid flow and prevent backflow. These valves are installed to ensure that fluid can only move in a forward direction, blocking any reverse flow automatically. Check valves operate solely through the reactive force of the fluid, requiring no external actuator or manual operation to open or close.

Types of Check Valves

  1. 1SWING CHECK VALVES REGULAR TYPE OR FULL OPENING
  2. PISTON CHECK VALVES
  3. PISTON CHECK VALVES ‘ Y ‘ TYPE
  4. SWING CHECK VALVES PRESSURE SEAL
  5. LIFT CHECK VALVES PRESSURE SEAL
  6. LIFT CHECK VALVES PRESSURE SEAL ‘Y’ PATTERN
  7. TILTING DISC CHECK VALVES PRESSURE SEAL

Material:

Check valves are available in a range of materials to match fluid characteristics, operating temperatures, and environmental conditions. Common materials include steel, cast iron, plastics (PE, PP, UPVC), brass, bronze, and specialized alloys.
Carbon steel, frequently used for valve bodies, is ideal for non-corrosive fluids and operates effectively in continuous service up to 425°C. Stainless steel, valued for its high corrosion resistance, is used in high-temperature applications up to 800°C, making it suitable for extreme environments.
