A flow switch, also known as a flow sensor or flow switch, is a device used to monitor the flow rate and pressure of liquids, air, steam, or gas passing through a channel. If the flow rate increases or decreases significantly beyond the set value, the flow switch triggers an alarm to protect the equipment. The flow sensor sends an electrical signal to the electrical controllers. Although all flow switches are flow meters, not all flow meters are flow switches because not all have the ability to control flow. Flow switches are widely used in various industrial, commercial, and residential applications for flow detection, monitoring, and control. The components of a flow switch include a valve body, a sensing device, and a switching unit connected to the pipeline.
Types of Flow Switches:
- Piezo Flow Switch

- Paddle Flow Switch

- Thermal Flow Switch

- Ultrasonic Flow Switch

- Turbine Flow Switch

- Linear Flow Switch (with pipe tees)

- Piston Flow Switch

Applications of Flow Switches:
these are the main applications based on usage:
Air Flow Switches::
- Air supply systems
- Room air filtration and filtration system
- Exhaust ventilation
- Duct heating
Liquid Flow Switches:
- Liquid transfer systems
- Water treatment and chlorination
- Water heaters
- Pumps
- Sprinklers
- Cooling devices
- HVAC systems
