Grade CF8M is part of the ASTM A351 standard, which covers valves, flanges, fittings, and other components exposed to pressure and temperature. This standard is associated with stainless steel metals. Grade CF8M is a type of cast stainless steel.

The buyer is responsible for specifying the grade of items such as valves, fittings, flanges, etc., that need to be procured. This selection depends on the design requirements, operating conditions, mechanical properties, high-temperature specifications, or corrosion resistance characteristics.

All casting grades, such as CF8, CF8M, CF3, and CF3M, must have appropriate thermal behavior for design and chemical specifications.

Chemical Properties of Grade CF8M are detailed in the table below.

Carbon %Manganese %silicon %sulfur %phosphorus %Chromium %Nickel %Molybdenum columbium (niobium) %

Mechanical Properties of Grade CF8M are as follows:

TENSILE STRENGTH KSI (Mpa)Yield strength ksi (Mpa)Elongation in 2in. Or 50mm
70 (485) 30 (205)30

Less than 0.04% carbon for temperatures exceeding 1000°F (538°C).
